Exercise “SANGAM-24” between Indian Navy’s MARCOS and US Navy SEALSs concluded in Goa. The training was focused on enhancing cooperation and interoperability in maritime special operations. The Spokesperson Navy shared information about the exercise on X (formerly Twitter).

The 9th edition of Exercise SANGAM-24, a platform for mutual learning, commenced in November 2024 in Goa between the Indian Navy’s MARCOS and US Navy SEALs. The key activities include close-quarter battle techniques, HADR operations, joint tactical drills focused on counter-terrorism, addressing contemporary security threats in maritime environments, and sharing knowledge regarding modern warfare strategies and equipment, fostering a deeper understanding of each other’s operational methodologies.
Exercise SANGAM, a testament to the historical ties between India and the US, was launched as a bilateral training exercise between the two countries’ special forces (Indian Navy’s MARCOS and US Navy SEALs). It lasts three weeks. The first edition was conducted in 1994, and the 8th was conducted in Goa in November 2023. Exercise SANGAM has evolved significantly over the years, reflecting the strengthening of military ties between the two countries.
India and the US regularly conduct joint exercises like Yudh Abhyas, Vajra Prahar, Tiger Triumph, Cope India, Malabar, and SANGAM. These exercises have been crucial in shaping a strategic partnership between the two countries, especially in the strategically significant Indo-Pacific Region.
